I would like to announce the closure of Starters & Puds
Over the past thirty months or so we have built a good reputation for an innovative approach to dining whilst using good quality food and at reasonable prices.
Accolades such as Gourmet Society "Best New Restaurant" runners up and Head Chef Lee Campbells winning of the North East Chef of the Year confirmed that the approach we were taking was the right one.
Having enjoyed good numbers of diners every week it may seem strange that it has come to this? Unfotunately however there have been spells throughout this current year where we simply were not achieving enough.
There seems to have been a considerable shift over this year regarding the amount of customers coming in during the week, particularly for pre theatre dining. Although this market is strong it simply is not as it once was. Despite this I also felt that we were performing a lot better in numbers of diners than many established restaurants in the city
May I take this opportunity to thank all our customers, many of whom have supported it us since the start.
Any regrets? - none, apart from the dent to my bank account.
